Spider Bite

As told from mom's point of view:

Nothing like walking in from church and just happening to answer a phone call from  a Texas area code and having it be Cam saying so mom I got bit by a brown recluse spider and am at the ER. What's our insurance information.

Antibiotics did wonders and full recovery was made. Then 2 weeks later and a week before he came home he got over 22 fly bites on his legs and back to the ER he went. More antibiotics and he didn't share that story until after he got home.

Timeline

Hello!

Things have been good in Texas this week! We have two more people to teach who are really doing amazing. One of them this week accepted a baptismal date for may 26th and it's pretty darn great! He is the friend of a member here in the ward and actually knows the Bishop extremely well. He is really excited about it. Things are awesome with him.

We had a crazy course of events with one of our investigators who was going to be baptized this Saturday. It'll be pushed back unfortunately but she is ready to go and we are so happy for her. She got extremely Ill yesterday and did make it to church. It was really hard to handle but everything turned out really good.

We have another investigator who is really interested how the Book of Mormon builds up the Bible so much and she wished there was a time line showing the two. So Elder Fox and I are making a time line of the Bible and Book of Mormon that show their relation and such, and it's turning out really cool! We are really excited for it.

We had zone conference and it was a typical meeting, nothing crazy wowing. It was weird though cause everyone I was close with was saying goodbye to me and I realized I wouldn't see most of them again before I go. So it was really nice to see all the friends I've made and be able to talk with them and see them once more as a missionary. In the picture I will congratulate the winner who can find me in the picture hahaha, I am quite sneaky, it's like a missionary version of where's Waldo!

Hope everyone had an amazing Mothers Day! I sure did!

Love you all!

Baptism

Hey Yall!
What a lovely week it has been.

Monday was super funny, sister covey was going home that day so it was her last p day and also her birthday. Well they sent us a picture during The transfer of a super stereotypical photo in flowers and so we decided for a birthday present the other elders and us took one as well to mock them and then I went to Walmart and printed it off and framed it, it was hilarious. Everyone thought it was golden. We then had a funeral because when missionaries go home you have to have a funeral. It was all a fun day.

Tuesday was transfer day and when elder fox got here I was pretty skeptical. He told me he wanted me to take charge of the area and help him learn the people and everyone but that he wanted to equally contribute in lessons and teaching. He is humble as heck and we've had some amazing talks together where I've been truly edified by him. We are an awesome team. But I had him unpack and get settled in Tuesday. We also went and finally got into contact with an investigator who is set to be baptized but like ceased contacting us! She answered her door and we found out that we had both been trying to call each other all week but our phones have stopped sending calls and texts to each other. So we set of Facebook messenger and now we are back in business! It was fantastic.

Wednesday that happened was we got to eat dinner with this family that was awesome. They're a semi active family that has a pretty run down house but surprisingly really well kept inside. It was cozy. Their little granddaughters named Meredith from the movie brave and she is adorable. She HATES church people and strangers so didn't expect to get much interaction with her. But as we were eating she came right up to me and started talking to me in little girl English (she is like, no more than two I'm sure) and we started talking, after I finished eating she came and sat in my lap in the big arm chair and brought a coloring book and crayons and wanted me to sit and color with her so she and I colored for about 45 minutes. She would give me a color and point to what section I should color and that's how we did it. The family was amazed and was all, "how on earth did you get her to do that? She never likes strangers! Not anyone from church!" So I am apparently a friendly person or something hahaha, I had her and then their little dog squirrel who also hates other people come and plop down on my other side and I colored, pet squirrel, and enjoyed it hahaha. It was awesome.

Thursday was a weekly planning day. Much planning ensued and it went extremely well. We afterwards went to the church to meet Clarence and try on baptismal suits for him. We found one that fit well and then practiced how the baptism will go. He is such a humble guy and he is so happy. We then had a lesson with a lady named Judy who without being asked has read all of ether and then decided to read all of 1 Nephi and she had a ton of questions about it. It was superb, we got to talk about how the Book of Mormon and the Bible coincide and showed a timeline of events that corresponded. She ate it up and said she wanted to find out its true to either be baptized or not. So she's going well! We also saw some of our young investigators which was good but they're difficult to reign in. Teenagers can't seem to focus ever. So we were there a long time but finally got somewhat of a lesson in. We got to have some deer spaghetti (deer meat instead of hamburger meat) and it was super good.

Friday we had lessons with Betty and the Lockridges. Betty is golden and we talked about tithing with her, she had no issues with it. Her roommate came over and he's super tough to understand wit how old he is and so he rambled on for 45 minutes and I picked up probably 10% of what he was saying hahaha. It was so odd Elder Fox taught the rest of tithing well though so Betty got a good lesson. She is so excited to be baptized and is telling everyone and their dog they need to open their heart and meet with us to see the truth for themselves, she's on fire! The Lockridges went super well top. We had a lesson plan but bagged it and taught the plan of Salvation after hearing him ask some key questions the plan of Salvation could answer. So we did and it couldn't have gone better. I swear I've never seen such success before and I think it's because I finally figured out how to do missionary work. Elder fox is loving it and says I'm basically training him again and I just laugh at that.

Saturday was bomb. Clarence had his baptism and TONS of his family came. It was a really great service and I was honored to do the baptizing. It felt great to be able to do it, we then had our ward mission leader take us to a gas station where we got these like, Buffalo chicken things that look like taquitos on the roller heaters at gas stations. Then get some Ranch and it was honestly freaking good. We then did some studying and went over to our ward mission leader again for dinner. We had to clean out the font that morning and it was ghetto as heck hahaha cleaner, a toilet brush, paper towels, and a pitcher to rinse stuff off. It got it good and clean though.

Sunday we had 3 investigators at church and one was Betty, Clarence got confirmed, and it was just a great Sunday, I always love taking the sacrament. I feel like I can't live without it.

So it was a great week. Cannot complain in the slightest.

Love yall!

Walmart Pecan Pies & Investigators

Hey Yall!

This week as yet another great one!

We were finally able to meet with this older couple we met a couple weeks back that were quite interested. They initially had ordered a Book of Mormon and then they got busy as heck. So finally we get to meet with them! They were excited about it. We prepared super hard for it and that night headed over there. It was funny cause we often tell people we will do anything we can to help them. So Lorie (the wife) asked us if we could get her 2 fifty cent pecan pies from Walmart. We stopped and totally got her some. Her husband thought it was hilarious. We went through the restoration with them and midway through Mike (the husband) told us that for 40 years he's been actively studying every religion he can find in search for the truth. He asked us how you can know who's a prophet. Like really know? Cause he knows prophets are a must and they have to be called of God but how do you know if one is called of God? As we went through the rest of the lesson answering his questions and such he and his wife were super excited. We heard later that week from Lorie "I've never seen Mike so excited about something. We can't wait to see yall again!" It's awesome. They're doing super well. They had a new Tea Cup Pomeranian and it peed on my dang tie but luckily it had literally no smell and no color so it didn't stain.

We then had Tuesday packed with lessons and they went so well. Clarence has a date for May 5th now and Betty for May 12th and a new investigator that went super well. They all came to church Sunday too!! Things are going awesome.

So my mission president just texted me as I was writing this and told me a former mission president from the missionary board of the church is going to be coming out with Elder Judkins and I Wednesday after I conduct a combined district meeting with another district. I'm like freaking out prayers for me being led by the spirit would be gratefully appreciated.

Life is going good here in Texas though. Can't complain.

Love to yall!

Last Transfer!

Hey mom!

No worries on the package, my companion gets so many I forgot I was getting one. And it's good it's been a chill week. I wish I had a chill week. But it was a really good week. Our investigators are doing awesome. Some didn't show up at church which was obnoxious because we set three baptismal dates this week! Now they just gotta get coming to church, we should hopefully have two more on date this week too. I love them, I've never had a relationship with people like these people. It's such a joy and it all is just from being obedient and going and trying to help them anyway I can. I could care less if they get baptized. I just want to do what the lord wants for them at that time, even if it's just sit and be there and let them know there is someone praying for them and someone that cares.

And dang! The dates already chosen huh? Hopefully I go home on June 13th for sure. I am excited as heck! I don't know if I could wait longer hahaha.

I got to hold an awesome snake this week and also had a hilarious video capturing me being a retard at My ward mission leaders house. The ward has been DYING laughing at it and I think I've made an impression. I'll send the video, and just keep it within the family for now if you would, but I gotta show ya.

We ran a 5k as a zone with the mission president and I'm pooped from it. I did pretty good though. I got 7th or 8th or something. It was awesome. I use to be so much faster though, kinda sad about that but knee surgery will get ya if you don't run for the next 4 years.

Life is going good though. Can't complain too bad. Just being excited for the last transfer to begin! I am excited as heck to get home. It's so close. I am working hard and finishing strong but definitely am excited to get back.

I love ya Mom!

The Lord Provides

Hey Yall!

This week was a great week. We went one exchanges with the zone leaders and it went much better than I had thought it would. We taught like 8 lessons that day. It was pretty cool. We also had a lot of meals fall from heaven this week. Our dinner calendar got snagged by the relief society president (I don't know why clipboards magically disappear into their bag but they do WAY TOO OFTEN) and so we didn't have dinners at all scheduled this whole week. But we had one each day. A member  saw a walking around one day and stopped and took us with him to a seafood grill where we had some fried catfish that was
quite good, we then with the zone leaders got a random dinner invite and ended up having some amazing Mexican food that I ate way too much of. It came back with a vengeance! We then got invited to lunch by the same dude who took us to get catfish to have street tacos at this place and it was also amazing. Beef fajita meet is the best just for everyone's info when they get street tacos. The thing is, if you ever wonder if your Mexican food is authentic? I shall say again, it came back with vengeance. Real Mexican food is so good but it's a reward risk type thing here. We then got taken to a super good burger place called bottle cap alley. At the end of that dinner I was doing magic tricks for people tying it into the parable of the talents and life half the restaurant was watching, it was super fun. Utilize your talents for missionary work people! We just were provided for miraculously is the message here and it was great.

We had an investigator who has been wanting to be baptized and been being taught for 4 months come to church for the first time last Sunday! I love the dude and it was so good to have him there. I feel like we begged the lord make than ever to soften his wife's heart and
to strengthen his to come. It was answered! Such a blessing.

It was a good week though, I've been pondering lately the worth of souls as it seems to be the theme of a lot lately of meetings I'm at. I think if we could understand a figment of our own worth, it'd allow us to understand the worth of those around us. For you can only love
your neighbor as much as you love yourself. Discovering our worth can be a process though, a process nonetheless I think would be good to go down. I also have been really taking president Nelson's talk seriously and hope everyone does as well to learn how to receive personal revelation. It's is key to these last days. Just go back and study
those talks, all of them. This conference is a turning point for the church in literally hastening the work. Don't skimp out now, the Savior is coming and I can testify  that living gospel standards, repenting to do so, and putting God first really does work. I fought
exactness my whole mission but you can do it "without compulsory means" as doctrine and covenants says. And when you do it in purity and love, you're life changes. Mine has.

I love you all!

Shoe Shine

Hey Yall!

Hope your week was good with the awesome opportunity to see general conference! I tried out writing down questions and seeing if they would be answered and it was really cool to be able to both have talks answer specifically as well as have the spirit inspire answers to me. It was a great weekend.

This week was not a crazy eventful one. Doing some sweet yoyo tricks, teaching some sermons at the prison like nursing home, and helping investigators progress! At the nursing home most of the people are nuts so we decided it didn't much matter what we prepared to give a sermon on so long as it was about Christ so we discussed Christ coming to America. It's amazing how so many people are so accepting and rejoice at the truth when they aren't locked off in heart and mind beforehand. It went super well.

We had a great lesson with a guy named Clarence too. I have been praying earnestly for the gift of charity for people, and when we were teaching this lesson Clarence at the end said, "man we just met, but I feel like I know you and you've know me for years."
Letting people know you pray for them and you truly care really is a powerful thing.

Being a district leader seems to be good. I think I'm doing well? Missionaries say so so I'll go with that.

We shined some shoes I had not shined my whole mission and the difference is astonishing.

But ya! Was a good week.

Love yall!

Pepto Bismol

Hey Mom!

My new area is awesome.

So my new companion, Elder Judkins, is awesome. He wears glasses but when he doesn't he looks IDENTICAL to Tyler Bennett. He is an awesome kid. He's been out 6 months and has a genuine care to work. It's such a breath of fresh air. He takes his studies seriously and it make it so much better in a lesson because I can actually trust what he is going to say. We found 7 new investigators this week and I have never had a more unified companion than I do right now. We think with the same mind. Our lessons go SO well. And as we have been exactly obedient, the Lord is just handing us success. It's so awesome. He is from Las Vegas and has been in Greeneville his whole mission so far. We get along really really well. I've never had so much fun while having so much work and success ever in my life. When two people with pure motives who desire to work as a team get together, things go really smooth.

Getting transferred was rough on the budget but it's been good, this week that'll change thankfully but it's running low. We had a member help us out, he does dollar shave club and it's the most amazing thing. FYI for anyone still buying razors from the store? Stop! Dollar shave club is so dang sweet. And way cost effective. Well long story short he gave us each 12 razor blade changes and ordered the handles for them so we could save money on razors. It costs him about 10$ in the end. So ya, it's sweet. Super nice of him.

Elder Judkins and I tried to make this nasty drink thing that someone gave us. We were making it after we got home and it was literally the worst thing in the entire world. It looked like Pepto Bismol and didn't taste good whatsoever. I don't know what the deal is but it was hilarious at least.

Last night Elder Judkins and I couldn't stop laughing, we were coming up with variant names for nouns around the house. For example.
Window = glass poster
Shower = temporal atonement
Teeth = food axes
Toothpaste = food axe sharpening ointment
Bed = Human Wireless Charging Pad
Tie = Expensive Noose
Desk = Paper Elevation Station
Mirror = Opposite Day Portal
Juice = Pulverized Fruit Blood
Belt = Hip Necklace
Eye Lids = Sight Dust Mops

So yeah things are good!

Love you mom!

No Coincidences

Hey Yall!

We have great news all around! We had a baptism Sunday! And two more on the 24th and one on April 7th! Things are going fantastic and it's fun to see a "hard area" get some blessings. The thought for this week is how there are no coincidences in life. The investigator yesterday Jean has a crazy story. He lives in Honduras and his mom wanted him to get a better education so he came to America to live with his cousins, after about a year his cousins did something bad and he got blamed for it and they kicked him out. He had made a friend that week named Rylan Evans who's family is in one of the wards we cover. Jean was at Rylan's house the day he got kicked out and it was his first time being over to hang out with Rylan. Well Rylan's mom, as she relayed at his baptism which she hadn't mentioned before, immediately felt when she met Jean that day "this young man will be baptized." She and Rylan talked with him for like an hour that day about the church. Turns out Jean was very well read in scripture and could even see the temple in Honduras from his house. After they got done talking Rylan's mom asked him what he was going to do with being kicked out, Jean didn't know and so she told Rylan to go with him and get his stuff because he was moving in to their house! Brother Evans gets back that weekend to find he has a new son! Hahaha well Jean asked if he could go to church with them and they brought him. This was January and we met him that day. The lesson in gospel principles was one that was a little......not great for really any investigator was all over the place so we were like, "crap this is not good." Well we set a lesson up with them and it was awesome teaching Jean. (Pronounced John btw). He had no resistance to anything we taught and was like, "this is true I know it is. I feel it." He accepted a baptismal date and due to extenuating circumstances waited until yesterday to be baptized but it went awesome. Rylan got to baptize him and tons of people showed up, this was one of the only times I got to meet the investigator and see them baptized before leaving, it was a special treat. And then the two on the 24th getting baptized are awesome too, I'll save that story for another email. But man it was great.

This week was a great one and I hope everyone else had a good week. I also it my 21 month mark this week! So crazy.

Love yall!

Juggling & Moving

Hey Yall!

This week was awesome, we had some crazy amounts of rain and biking in it was not the greatest plan. I'll show a video of why hahaha.

Things are fantastic though. We have had the best week as of work. We now have three baptisms this weekend! The family that is getting baptized has become some of our best friends. The wife we were worried would accept to be baptized with the son but we had a lesson Sunday where she asked if she could be baptized with her son. And it was sick! The bishop was so excited. I'll give the full story after it happens but man it has been a whirl. We also have a baptism Sunday as well. Things are raining out of the sky with all this rain!

We have been having some superb Chinese food as of late and so I've been carrying around some chopsticks and it's been pretty funny to see people when I whip out my own pair.

I also learned how to juggle! Some members made us some bean bags so we could learn. At night I've been trying to and actually can. So that's a fun thing.

We helped a bunch of people move this week which was good. Nobody has a basement because the ground is awful so they have storage units and I'm pretty sure everyone understands that if they got nice storage totes and spent a little money it'd be super organized but instead they're like, "nah, that's money, we can just stack it!" Then you open that pearly Burgundy sheet metal door and BAM! You've got yourself a hoarders dream. It's great.

But ya! Life is good, we are excited for these baptism and so next week should be a great email.

Love ya!

Magic & Jesus Cards

Hey Yall!

This week was a good one! Neither I nor my companion got transferred but he wrecked his ankle this last Monday and so he's been in a boot cause he tore some ligaments. So we stayed close to our homestead. But that's been good because we have been going out and playing pickup games and shooting oops at a nearby court as well as we have learned a ton of card tricks and do street magic for people and then talk about missionary stuff after cause they always ask. Well this weekend was the third weekend we have really made it happen and so we were out Friday shooting hoops and tons of high school kids walked by going home from school and all of em were like, "Hey! It's Elder Hiatt and Elder black!" They knew us by name! All cause of street magic and ball. It's awesome. They know me as the baller and Elder Black as the magician but we do both we just are better at our corresponding talents. So it's way fun. Members are that way too, when we get to dinners they all after are like, "so we hear you do magic, let's see this!" So we then have an awesome time and end up getting tons of ward help from it too! It's been so fun. We recently learned a new trick and it blew some kids minds. While they all were watching magic some of them came over to me and asked for more Jesus cards cause they wanted some and so this time I gave them the articles of faith cards and everyone saw and then everyone at McDonald's wanted one! I sat while Elder Black did magic talking with everyone else as they read the articles of faith and asked what they all were and such. It was so sick, I felt like Alma. They all put em in the back of their phone cases so they could have Jesus showing it was sick.

We also had tons and tons of full size candy bars. Elder Black and I didn't want them so we filled our suit coats with 70 total things of snickers, Starburst, milky way,skittles, and everything you'd find in movie theaters. We then went to church and whenever someone in any class answered a question we tossed em. The priest quorum went nuts and the young men's president was all, "man you guys know how to get street credit with the youth, making my bar too high sheesh! No you guys are the best thanks for that man." So that went awesome. We also had a linger longer after church and we got stuck at a table with a way cool family. Their daughters were awesome and we enjoyed their company.

This week has been FREEZING...... It's awful. The air is so dang wet and it's all sub 32 temperatures so coats literally don't matter. It rained one night and then froze and all the trees were coated in like ice, every inch of them. I felt like I was in heaven cause the sun in the morning shined through all the ice on the tree branches and made them glow. It was so cool. Then it slowly melted through the day and so under any given tree it was raining.

Things are awesome, I appreciate your prayers!

29,000 Steps!

Hey mom!

We walked 29000 steps Saturday! But ya so far has been good. We currently have a baptism for next week so that'll be awesome.

We also had a mission president fireside for our stake that was themed the joys of missionary work and all the missionaries in Mckinney came to be a panel for a Q&A and I got the question of if there was a budget for groceries. I don't know why but I had all the people there laughing their heads off as I talked about it and it was really good. I got a lot of compliments from the parents and leaders on the things I said so it was cool to see that.

We got to help the family that our investigator lives with take pictures of all their puppies to be ready for selling. They are super cute it was a puppy party!

Saw a sweet Lamborghini too!

We biked a ton one of the days around here and my legs have never felt so destroyed. It was super nice though cause this lady gives us stuff at Starbucks where we sit down to plan in the evenings and stuff. But ya, it's been a good week, had some awesome meetings with my president and stuff and everything is really good.

But ya, life is good. Just Goin along.

Love you mom! You can use the email stuffs for sending something out.

Yard work & Magic

Hey Y'all!

This week was really good. This last Sunday was long as heck but as a testimony to having charity above all, let me relay it to you. We got to Sunday meetings and had a ton goin on, when it came time for the second ward sacrament meeting, we didn't realize it but afterwards there was a family with two investigators in it there. They came up to us after and asked when we could come over for dinner. The dad is a member returning to activity since he was 14 when he left the church and his wife and kid aren't members. The missionaries in the past rubbed them the wrong way really bad they said, how it was like someone selling pest control but instead it was membership at the price of getting taught lessons. But unbeknownst to us when Elder Black gave his testimony two weeks before and how candid he was with who he his and giving true testimony rather than a thankamony or talking the talk without walking the walk, and how I testified of love and charity and the effect it's had in my life and how it should be the growth formula of our nature, they went and met with the bishop after and asked for our names and numbers. They then this Sunday set up a time for us to go eat dinner and just, I was humbled. We met the wife earlier that week when we stopped by and got to play with their cute dog and get to know them. It's gonna be awesome getting to know them. Then in the next ward a youth brought a friend to church who moved in with their family. He has taken extreme interest in how his family is from the gospel and asked us to teach him about how he can be a part of it. So that's been crazy, literally just the lord showing his hand, making our efforts light up. It was awesome.

So that was the big highlight. We also helped a family with yard work to ease the burden placed on them from moving out soon. It was way fun and I got to do some magic tricks with their kids, it was enjoyable.

We also had some awesome sushi with Elder Owens and Busch one day, sushi is the best we went again today and that was a treat.

We also saw a dog that made tears come to my eyes and you'll see why.

Oh and we also built a puzzle and the last piece literally didn't come with the puzzle. I think someone working at the puzzle place fricken trolled us.

Love you!

Loving People is Most Important

Hey Yall!

This week was a slow one. Battling motivation is a real battle but we are the masters of our own fate and our area just exploded with some astounding blessings and people.

I'm sorry I haven't done a Dallas Daze in forever. I really have run out of things and so why best a dead horse ya know?

We got evacuated for a fault fire alarm in our building and got to meet all our neighbors in the coldest dang day ever so that was grand. I'll attach a photo.

So the highlight of the week was we had a meeting with our bishop in one of the wards and discussed the work he'd like from us which was good because everyone's been out of town and finally our leaders are back. I felt like the army of Antipus and how they were confused because of the loss of their leaders. So we discussed things and then he asked if we'd give our Testimonies so the ward can see us and pray for us by name. So we figured we'd do it in all three. So we did and I felt to share different things in each ward and I feel like a testimony has to come from the heart which means you gotta open up a little personally to really bring the spirit otherwise it's just vain repetitious words. So I shared some of my struggles of reading and praying for a year and a half and still not getting an answer and how I eventually received one. Then another ward I talked about the importance charity has taken in my life. Then another I said how I grew up and really didn't believe how I talked like I did. All round just being real. I wondered if it did anything and such. Well we got a call from a bishop and he talked about how there was a less active who has just barely been wanting to come back and his wife and kids aren't members. He wanted them to take the lessons but his wife is really uncomfortable with elders and doesn't like their pushiness and such. Well they were at church this Sunday coincidentally and he requested to meet with the bishop and said and quote from what my bishop told us "He said he looked at his wife and said that these are the elders that are suppose to teach us, let's get em over here." So they're hesitant but ready. I am totally astounded the way God works through us, cause I don't feel worthy of that kinda thing but the spirit carried our words to people. So Elder Black and I have really recommitted and repented so we can give the proper time to this family because they deserve our 100%. That was the biggest thing this week and I can't believe how the Lord's hand is in my life these days. Ever since I've sought love and love only I've become more obedient, filled with joy, and stuff like this is becoming regular. As a really good friend said to me, Missionary isn't suppose to be like a corporate business, it's suppose to be personal, genuine experience. It's suppose to be love filled. Like really all missionary work is is first experiencing the truth of the gospel for yourself, and then just giving a crap about someone else and they'll eventually see like,"why the heck does this person love people so much, what do they have I don't." And then you share your experience with them and the spirit carries it home. I have never been so happy. This is what I think President Monson tried to teach through his life. I genuinely feel like the greatest lesson I learned form him and I'll say it over and over because it's changed how I see life. "Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved." I've typed that much my iPad auto corrects it for me. Seriously all this life is is to follow the greatest commandments, love God and love everyone else. But that's my spiel. I glory in God for how merciful he has been to use a rust tool and work through it. I don't feel worthy of the blessings he gives me but I know that I am clean, and if you can say that then the blessings of heaven are around you. That's what christ came to do, so get clean and feel this joy, then go give a crap about someone else and let them know they are loved and they can be clean too.

Love they Neighbor

Hey Yall!

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. Mine was awesome. Thanks for everyone who got me a gift! I really appreciate it!

This week was amazing, and cold!  It's been in the 20s with high humidity so it's pretty  much like no layering helps for the sole fact that it's cold from the inside out. It cools your blood down in your feet and legs and circulates that to the rest and it's really just terrible. Humidity is of the devil.

We have had some excellent moments this week. We felt prompted to go see a lady that worked at a salon near us and so biking over there we locked our bikes up and this guy gets out of a car and is all, "ELDERS! Hey! Can I buy yall lunch? I'm not a Mormon but my aunt is and I can't thank yall enough for who you are. Can I do that?" So of course we had some awesome lunch at jersey Mike's subs (I HIGHLY recommend the number 8 Mike's way, subs of any other kind pale in comparison to that place). So there was that, then the lady we saw was working today and we had a fantastic chat with her about spiritual topics and she looks at us and is all, "your hair needs hair cut, it's been a while since you saw a good barber huh (she was someone I went to in prosper that is less active but got really close with her and her husband, she gave me haircuts for free and I'd never had a better one so this was a great surprise.) so we let her do that and talked with her even more . missionaries haven't been seeing them since and so it was really good to get contact again it them. So that was a hand of God experience there.

We also had two families with non members come to church and later spent new years with them and the father of the second was really appreciative we followed the prompting to come see them and how awesome it was to have us. It was so cool to have God see fit to use us the way he has been. I can't glory in him enough!

We had a day this week I was on exchanges with my district leader that was SO DANG COLD. He and I resorted to going back to our apartment early because it was a little dangerous. But we got to see some awesome people that day and have a wonderful day as well. So it's been fun.

I have never been happier in my entire life and its all because of mercy from repentance and seeking to love our neighbor. There's nothing greater than the joy that comes. I love this.

Side note, my black Year is over! (The year I spend fully as a missionary) so that is nuts to consider.

Love yall!
